I thought I'd start this thread so we could share and compare procedures, or Steps using the X6. I have found that my X6 holds better in GPS hold mode. If I position it where I want to take the shot in manual mode. Trim it out so it stays there and then go into GPS hold mode. If I need to move to another spot, I take it out of GPS hold, move to another position, re-trim and then go into GPS hold mode again. I tested this out the same day back to back flights 4-4.5 wind speed. If I didn't trim it where I wanted to get the shot, the X6 would start moving around.

I have seen that as well. i never trim it out just hover it in one place and then lock gps. i sometimes will let it move in gps if it is just a little bit since i feel that it wants to go back to the same original lock place. mine is holding well and stable in gps lock for some amazing photography!

I just thought I'd try this since mine seemed to move right away after putting it in GPS hold and then move around trying to locate where it was locked in GPS. this seemed to work allot better. it's another step but if it holds better it's worth it. I emailed Draganfly today and asked if I should be having to do this or what they think about it. I really don't mind like I said it's just another step, no big deal.

This is what I was told about the trims.
The closer your trims are to keeping the heli level the better it will fly in GPS mode. However you will need to be careful if you end up putting in large amounts of trim (over 60 points)to counteract winds you will likely see a drift if you change the helicopters orientation. If you have the roll trim set at 60 to the right to counteract wind and it holds good, if you change the yaw orientation 180 degrees that right roll trim will now be going with the wind rather than against it so you will see some drifting.
And the hard Iron Calibration question re: with and without a camera attached.
For calibration with the camera on vs. off it will have a fairly minor effect and it will not be noticeable during flight so you can do the calibrations whichever way you find them easier.
