Apparently there is 2 different software packages for removing camera shudder. The first is for videos taken with shaky hands, but the other is specifically for UAVs in that the shudder is at a far higher fequency. don'y have the name here just now but let me look into it over the weekend.

dude!!! please find out that that is. i use imovie for mild shake but that vibration cant be taken out. the other that I have used and had good success is deshaker and virtualdub. both free and the best that I have found. I have much vibration in the lumix but much less in the SD9. I did finally find out that a wide angle lens filter did a miracle. I kick myself for not thinking of that sooner but for $39 at best buy some of the best buys that I have made. check out my youtube for the video 0.5 lens test. it is unedited and you need to look at it in 720p. great example of what the sd9 does with that little adjustment. i just bought a piece of impact high density foam that I am going to test as a filter between the camera and the mount. if you slide the x6 very slow there is no vibration but as soon as it starts moving faster that fine vibration shows up. has anyone worked on a gimbal style mount idea?? that way we could fly faster with more horizontal control??

There are 2 types of shake/vibrations with the X6 and video in my view. One is the general shake and movement you get which if you put a wide angle adapter on will go a long way to helping as suggested by sRagnar. The other vibration some of us have had is what I call high speed vibration I have got rid of this by putting a vibration absorbing material called 'Deflex" which is made for the audio industry for absorbing sound vibrations. It comes in A4 sheets of different thickness 4,6, 8 mm thickness I used 8 mm and cut a small square to cover the base of the camera where it meets the mount. Give that a try. Siggi I have had a type of gimbal mount made onto which I secured the camera mount, it replaced the shock absorbers and works really well in keeping horizons straight but I got too much shake off it don't know why so went back to the DF mount. I have also been experimenting with the gopro cameras with some interesting results as they have an amazing 170 degree angle of view. You have to make your own mount as with that view you will see the skids etc. and place the camera in line with the front of the skids. There is no live video steaming with these cameras but with that degree of view you get everthing! Verticals and horizontals bend because of the extreme view but still interesting pictures. You can get rolling shutter effects but if you fly slowly and smoothly like a walking pace it has been fine. Anyone else tried the gopro cameras?

Anyone got the model number of the Wide angle filter as I have looked on the Panasonic Accessories site and the only one there is £150+. Not a problem if that's the case but want to get the right one. I have used the Deflex on the Lumix as per Mike's suggestion and waiting to try it on the SD9 but cradle is away having the servo fixed!

A possible solution?
Panasonic are releasing the DMC LX5. Pretty much same format as the LX 3, looks like the same body but with better optics AND says outputs in 1080i HD. HOWEVER....it uses AVCHD Lite format which is not compatible with iMovie, Final Cut Express or Studio, (yet) but can be converted to the Apple Intermediate Codec with a plug in. Also I thought AVCHD Lite was 720p??
I have found that the Lumix gets far less vibration than the HDC SD9 video camera and a closer inspection of the spec sheet of the LX5 shows that it is 233g against 265g for the LX3 - maybe that the sites I am looking at have quoted one with battery and one without. Has anyone out there had hands on the LX5 and can report back?
If video quality good enough, and it should be with the quality optics this could be the answer and avoid all the fiddly changing over of cradles.
