Hi Guys,
New member here, great to see everyone trouble shooting and exchanging information.
I'm a prospective X6 owner and was quite depressed reading this thread. What I would like to know is how X6 owners feel today about their deaganfly's performance? Have the upgrades changed disgruntled owners opinions of the X6?
Has the customer service/support improved significantly at draganfly innovations.
Does anyone know why DF made significant structural changes to the design of the X8 and how this will improve performance?
Thanks for any info, and to Siggi for steering me to this discussion board.

Mine came with some of the upgrades and thre was a s/w upgrade in January. The upgrade went OK, but to my (at the time) inexperienced eye I did not notice much difference. Given the right conditions (zero to moderate breeze) I have got some good shots that I am pleased with (see the shots on my home page and the 360 panoramas). Given the wrong conditions (gusty winds) and it is hard work to get anything reasonable. IMHO.
Had no dealings directly yet (I bought through Air2Air and everything has been through them). However I am hoping to get a couple of things sorted out (including the quality of the video downlink) on my X6 before I even consider moving up to an X8
You seem to know more than me about this. Do you mean the X8? If so, what information do you have about it (anything at all), as I have none.

Also these more recent threads seemed to indicate that the X6 customers were much happier with performance. x6helicopter.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=34x6helicopter.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=19Enjoyed looking at your site. Is there a reason I can't find any video footage taken from your X6? I've noticed the same thing at a few other sites that offer the aerial video, and I have to say it makes me quite nervous about the learning curve/feasibility of getting professional quality video with the X6? It would seem a no brainer to capitalize on this unique feature by showing it to potential customers on your site?
You seem to know more than me about this. Do you mean the X8?
Maybe it's wishful thinking? The only info I have is from looking at their website. They claim it has twice the payload, that the motors are larger and more powerful than those used on previous draganfly helicopters. They also went to the 8 rotor design. I'm hoping that these design changes were done specifically to resolve issues with flying in wind? PS, love your signature.

I did create a 40M demo vid that took forever to load, if at all. I need something like a MAC with FinalCutPro and Smoothcam to edit and show it off properly (although it was so calm, the raw footage was, for once, useable). It's masked out for now until I can do something with it. It's true, isn't it?

In response to video examples.... I forget who this did this, although I'm sure they are a member of the forum... Take note, it's not about the height it's about the unique angles he was able to get. www.youtube.com/watch?v=DP6MKOExncwand for some fun....here is what I hope to be like soon whilst flying a UAV in first person view only Watch the full video...gets interesting after a minute and a near miss @ about 2 min. www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQpFdY1yDwc

Apparently we will be receiving some information on the the X8 Aug. 24th. I want to know your thoughts. Do you think that many of your issues will be addressed with this new model? Will the increase in payload make a big difference? Will it be worth it? Will it do a better job in the wind? Can we make money with this tool? Will you upgrade if you can? What camera would you like to use... the Canon D5 mark II or another? If you had it all to do again would you?

I check the forum now and then and see the X8 was announced. Well I saw this on YouTube and there is something about it in the news of Dragon website. Maybe its time to set aside my TREX. X8 folds and carries 2 pounds - looks pretty cool www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5DoT-1gqtA

I saw this as well. Looks amazing, what a camera mount. Is Draganfly going to come up with something that can compete with that, on the X8? Plus that thing is carrying a Canon D5 mark II, one of the best cameras out there. But it weighs more than 1kilo. or 2.2 lbs. Talk about solving the shake problem... WOW.

I don't think draganflyer will ever compete because their machines are built by folks who could care less about quality video footage and aerial photography...they just build camera carriers.

Seems odd not having any landing gear or something to protect the camera during landings.

I believe its their gimmick...on their site "zero footprint" besides how much protection will any landing gear have on a craft weighing that much falling from 100 feet...absolutely none

I neglected to mention...they hand launch and retrieve..no ground landings. Very easy if you're a confident and accomplished pilot...obviously.

I own an X6 but every time I see these videos feel discomfort because our teams are very expensive and the quality of video image we have is very bad compared to other less valuable, should unite in some way for the we invest in the Draganfly x6 to help us improve some things using the new technology x8, for that price so high is the minimum that should be done.

it is very unfortunate because like flier mentioned they have a team that knows zero about producing good aerial video. All their air platforms do are fly and carry cameras, there is so much more to it than that. I'm looking at the design of their new mount as well as all their other camera mounts and I see a bunch of key factors that will never make them good performers.
