The good news; I did receive a call from Draganfly this morning. the conversation went very well, Draganfly is going to be taking steps to handle their customers better. they have changed the recommended wind speed and are in the process of a better recommended chart for wind speed. we discussed range, video; 1000 1500' control should be 2 miles, so they are going to contact sranger in the next two day's, as they are having meetings. I was told the owner of Dranagfly is aware of the issues. their not sure how they are going to handle us that have made their purchase based on the info that was originally on their site. I would hope to hear back from them this week.

Helicrazi, Who or what is sranger? 2 mile control would be phenomenal! I would be satisfied with solid control at 500 meters though. I can't see myself flying in wind and then losing brief control of the craft. You will certainly need to see the video feed in order to properly frame your shot. I couldn't see a police force using this aircraft to peer into windows of a high rise if it can not handle the wind. It's usually windy around tall buildings. A question for any and all owners: What was the highest altitude that your pictures were taken from?

Hi skyshark, sranger is a member here. as to range, your not going to fly any further than you can see the X6 and know your orientation, right ? I definitely agree about police force and tall building's, Lol. I haven't taken many pictures with the X6 as yet, I will hopefully now start doing some. I know most of the pictures I plan on using the X6 for will be below 50'. but I plan on testing the video transmission range taking the X6 up as high as we feel comfortable with, straight up and a calm morning.

My altitude alarm is set at 150 ft. I have had it up to about 200 ft. on a calm morning. Wireless transmission was fine. Could go higher with a bit more confidence. Unlike conventional RC flying, you really have to confide in the GPS hold system as the whole copter is at its mercy at any altitude. . Just have to have the technology tuned in and trust it.....Totally counter- intuitive to most RC flying

Draganfly Innovations Inc. Really needs to do something about their customer service !!!!!! I have heard that they told one of us that if we have to keep taking one of our techs time away from production then it slows it down. what ? wait a minute, There are unit's out there that have issues and others have similar or the same issues, then production should be stopped and the problem resolved then restart production once the problems are corrected. other wise all you'll have is a bunch of bad product on the market and no one will be working except the lawyers !!!!! A number of you may have experienced this, your asked to send in data via email, so you do. They need to let us know that they received it and we'll get back to you by a set time, even if they need more time. but not leave you guessing to whether they even received it or not !!!! As you can tell I'm not a happy camper and there are a number of X6 owners that feel the same as I do. I have sent them data, or whatever they request, and I have to follow through and ask if they even received it. it's just not good business !!!!! The last correspondence I had with them was Tuesday morning 5/12/09 as to the issue of the misrepresentation of the wind stated that the X6 could be operated at, I figure I'll give them a week. I did however ask about a Hard Iron question that I expected an answer before the end of the week. we'll see.

They sure replied prior to purchase in a timely manor. I don't see a support button on there site. Heres the bottom line; I have spent almost three months trying to determine if the X6 had a problem. and all along it was that it just wont handle the wind speed that they claimed. so a lot of wasted time. I feel that Draganfly should have done better testing. a wind tunnel test could have solved the whole issue, and there's one close to them. I need to have the stress test report before I can have it tested in a wind tunnel, I don't know if Draganfly has this report or not. at this point I feel I have done sufficient wind speed testing and data collecting at my own expense. and it seems they changed their recommendations due to this ? I do a lot of testing for other company's, mainly has to do with Amp draw and help develop product, has to do with Lipo's and the RC heli industry, I'm soon to receive a new heli for data collecting and from another company a BEC to test. the other company's really appreciate the data. as a result I end up with product free or at cost, it's a nice arrangement.

I did receive a email from Draganfly after I sent one this morning asking when they planned on getting back to me. sounds like they are going to work something out I replied back thanking them and asked about the Hard Iron question we discussed and what steps their taking to improve customer support.

I just has some parts sent to me from them and it took 2 days and great service. I think that they have improved their contact speed and quality of communication.

yea and more shaky video. i was told by dragan that if i think that I am flying slow enough the slow down to half that. might as well at that point take a photo. all that video on the dragan website with the X6 flying around with the video camera under at full speed. yea right! www.draganfly.com/uav-helicopter/draganflyer-x6/gallery/videos/video-3.phpwith every day with winds over 7 mph building more and more frustration.

The Dragan guys told me the same thing when I was there for the demo. Go as slow as you can when shooting video then speed it up in post-production.
From other reading I came across some info about frame rates (usually the faster the better)... it seems like 59.??fps interlaced in the preferred rate when shooting fast moving stuff. That's the frame rate FOX uses for their sports footage.
